The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is set to hold its Ordinary Congress on Saturday, 27 June 2026, in Bo City, marking the first such congress under the leadership of SLFA President Babadi Kamara.
The congress is being viewed as another significant milestone for the new administration, which has emphasized transparency, accountability, and good governance since taking office. The SLFA announced the date of the congress more than a month in advance, allowing delegates and stakeholders ample time to prepare.
According to SLFA Media Officer Lamin Tarawallie, all 57 delegates have arrived in Bo City ahead of the congress. Each Regional Football Association is also scheduled to hold an indoor dialogue with President Babadi Kamara before the official proceedings begin.
The Ordinary Congress is expected to deliberate on key issues affecting Sierra Leone football, including strengthening governance, aligning the football calendar, improving competitions, enhancing financial sustainability, and ensuring the country’s football administration complies with international best practices.
Since assuming office, Kamara’s administration has also prioritized integrity within the game by taking a firm stance against match manipulation and hooliganism while promoting professionalism and accountability across the football sector.
Saturday’s congress is expected to set the tone for the SLFA’s vision of building a more transparent, modern, and sustainable football ecosystem in Sierra Leone.
