The Bo District Football Referees Association BDFRA has indefinitely suspended referee instructor and assessor Saffa Massally from all officiating duties over what it described as unauthorized participation in sanctioned football competitions.

In a suspension letter dated 12 July 2026 and signed by the Association’s District Secretary, Azik B. Samuels, the BDFRA stated that Massally officiated Under-12 and Under-14 football competitions without the knowledge, authorization, or approval of the Association.

According to the letter, the Association determined that the action violated its rules, regulations, and procedures governing the appointment and authorization of match officials.

“After careful consideration of the circumstances, the Association has found you guilty of this misconduct. Consequently, you are hereby placed on indefinite suspension from all officiating activities under the jurisdiction of the Association, effective immediately,” the letter states.

The suspension bars Massally from officiating matches, participating in Association activities, or representing the BDFRA in any official capacity until further notice.

The Association further stated that the suspension will remain in force until it reviews the case and formally communicates a decision regarding his reinstatement. It also warned that failure to comply with the directive could result in additional disciplinary action.

The BDFRA said it remains committed to upholding the integrity, accountability, and professionalism expected of its officials.
