The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has successfully concluded the 2026 FIFA Member Association (MA) Course for Elite Referees in Bo after five days of intensive physical and technical training aimed at improving refereeing standards in the country.
Facilitated by FIFA instructors Ahmed Alie Mohamed of Somalia and Bento Thomas of Mozambique, the course equipped elite referees with updated technical knowledge and practical skills to enhance their performance in domestic and international competitions.
Speaking on behalf of SLFA President Babadi Kamara, Southern Region Football Association Chairman Joseph Benedict Mogba reaffirmed the association’s commitment to referee development and urged participants to uphold integrity, fairness, and professionalism.
SLFA Referees Committee Chairman Patrick Muana congratulated the participants and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained, emphasizing that discipline, consistency, continuous learning, and respect for the Laws of the Game are essential for career advancement.
The programme, supported by the SLFA Referees Department and local instructors, forms part of the association’s ongoing efforts to develop competent referees capable of officiating at the highest levels.
