Freetown, 11 September 2026 — The High Court of Sierra Leone has issued an injunction restraining Cricket Sierra Leone from proceeding with its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was scheduled for Friday, 11 September 2026.

The order was reportedly issued by Justice Mark Ngegba following a case brought by Murray Town Cricket Club and Emmanuel Pessima, a Board Member and Director of Development of Cricket Sierra Leone.

The plaintiffs are challenging the constitutionality of the proposed Congress and the electoral process ahead of the election of members of the Cricket Sierra Leone Board.

The plaintiffs are represented by Alfred Kamanda Esq. and Michael Katta Esq.

The court intervention places the planned AGM and board elections on hold pending further proceedings.

The concerned stakeholders have welcomed the court’s decision, calling for outstanding constitutional and governance issues to be addressed through due process before any election is conducted.

They have also urged cricket stakeholders to remain calm and respect the decision of the court.
