Bo, Sierra Leone – The Southern Region Football Association’s Technical Director, Kabineh Kamara, has officially conducted the draw for the Bo District U-17 Talent Hunt Tournament, paving the way for the competition to kick off on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Coronation Field in Bo City.
The tournament forms part of the Sierra Leone Football Association’s nationwide youth football development initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing emerging talents. The initiative follows a directive from SLFA President Babadi Kamara for regional U-17 competitions to be organized across the country.
Speaking after the draw, Kamara said the competition will provide a platform for young footballers aged 17 and under to showcase their abilities.
“This tournament will create a platform for young footballers aged 17 years and below to showcase their talents, and 20 players will be selected from across the Southern Region,” he said.
A total of 12 teams have been drawn into four groups of three teams each.
Group A: Profa Academy, Williams Academy, Margao AcademyGroup B: Fanta Academy, K-SEH Academy, Real Stars AcademyGroup C: J.B. Mardiaanii Academy, Shagarie AcademyGroup D: Vision Stars Academy, Oliva Academy, Bo City Academy
The group stage will run from Monday, July 13, to Thursday, July 16, with three matches scheduled each day.
The tournament is expected to serve as an important talent identification platform, with the best-performing players earning selection to represent the Southern Region in future youth football activities.
