NSA Boss Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq. Earns Praise from Sporting Associations at the Commonwealth Games

As the Commonwealth Games continue, sporting associations representing Sierra Leone have praised the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq., for what they described as his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of sports in the country.

According to members of the various sporting associations, Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq. engaged athletes and officials before the competition, sharing his vision and strategic plans to transform and develop the country’s different sporting disciplines. They described his engagement as encouraging and said it gave them renewed confidence ahead of the Games.

The associations noted that this is the first time they have participated in an international competition where the presence and support of the Executive Director have been strongly felt throughout the event.

They also commended Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq. for ensuring that athletes and officials received their full per diem allowances, describing the timely payments as a major boost that has allowed them to focus entirely on their performances without financial distractions.

The sporting associations further stated that the distribution of per diem allowances marked a significant departure from previous practice. According to them, in past international competitions, team officials often received higher per diem allowances than the athletes. However, they said that under the leadership of Mohamed Alphaka Conteh Esq., the system has changed, with athletes receiving higher per diem allowances than officials, a move they described as recognition of the athletes’ central role in representing Sierra Leone.

Representatives of the sporting associations said the Executive Director’s leadership demonstrates a genuine commitment to athlete welfare, transparency, and the advancement of sports in Sierra Leone. They expressed confidence that his vision and reforms will contribute significantly to the growth of sports and improve the country’s competitiveness at future international competitions.
