The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) have signed a two-year partnership agreement aimed at strengthening football cooperation and accelerating the development of the sport in Sierra Leone.
The agreement was signed on Monday, 17 August 2026, in Rabat, Morocco, by SLFA President Babadi Kamara and FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa.
Under the partnership, the two football governing bodies will collaborate in several key areas, including the training and capacity building of technical and administrative personnel, referee development, youth football promotion, football workshops and the organisation of friendly matches.
A significant component of the agreement focuses on football infrastructure development in Sierra Leone. The partnership is expected to support the establishment of a technical training ground in a vulnerable community, providing facilities to help develop young football talent.
The Moroccan Federation will also host SLFA technical and administrative personnel for training and observation programmes, allowing Sierra Leonean football officials to gain experience and knowledge from Morocco’s football development structures.
The agreement further provides for access to specialised sports injury hospital facilities, which could strengthen the medical support available to Sierra Leonean football personnel and players.
Both federations have also agreed to collaborate in organising international friendly matches involving their respective senior and youth national teams, covering both men’s and women’s football.
The partnership comes as Sierra Leone continues efforts to strengthen its football structures through improved technical expertise, administration, youth development and infrastructure.
The agreement will initially remain in force for two years, with the possibility of renewal by mutual consent of the two federations.
