Waterloo FC have officially secured promotion to the 2026/27 Sierra Leone Premier League after the SLFA Emergency Committee awarded the club three points and two goals following the abandonment of their National First Division Play-Off semi-final against Marampa Stars FC.

The decision followed an investigation into the abandoned fixture played in Port Loko on 16 July 2026. According to the Committee, the match was halted after incidents involving Marampa Stars FC supporters, players, and officials, which made it impossible for the game to continue. The ruling cited reports from both the referee and the match commissioner as the basis for its findings.

In its final decision, the Committee ruled that Marampa Stars FC had forfeited the match under the applicable competition regulations. Waterloo FC were consequently awarded a 2–0 victory, confirming their place in the 2026/27 Sierra Leone Premier League.

The ruling also imposed a series of disciplinary sanctions on Marampa Stars FC, including financial penalties, suspensions for a player and several club officials, and responsibility for any verified damage caused during the incident. The Committee further stated that its decision is final and not subject to appeal under the National First Division Play-Off Rules and Regulations.
